Computer migrations for small businesses

New computers are the easy part. Moving everyone's files, settings, and applications across without losing a working day is where it goes wrong. We plan the move with you on a written checklist, then carry it out at your office.

Files and settings moved across, the old machine retired.

Sound familiar?

  • New computers have arrived and nobody has time to set them up
  • Staff files live on machines you are about to replace
  • An old computer holds software or settings nobody wants to lose
  • The switch-over needs to fit around the working day
  • You are unsure what to do with the old hardware

What we do

Migrations

Move files, settings, and applications from old computers to new ones, or between drives, following a checklist agreed first. Your team signs in to their own accounts, and the old machines are wiped, kept, or returned as you decide.

What we look at

  • What moves: files, settings, and applications
  • Which machines, and in what order
  • Who signs in to what, and when
  • What happens to the old hardware

Everyone at a working desk on a new machine, with a checklist of what moved.

How it works

  1. Tell us what is happening. Use the form or call, in your own words. No technical terms needed.
  2. Approve a written scope and quote. Nothing starts until you do, and we don’t go beyond it without your sign-off.
  3. We do the work, then walk you through it. You keep written notes on what changed.

Where we visit

Homes and offices across Chicago's western and southwestern suburbs, including Elmhurst, Hinsdale, Burr Ridge, Hickory Hills, Palos Park, and Orland Park. See every town we serve, or call (708) 966-9790 to check yours.

Common questions

Anything else, ask in your request or on the phone.

Ask a question
What gets moved?

Files, settings, and applications, agreed on a checklist before the work starts, so everyone knows what is moving and what is not.

Is this a cloud or email migration?

No. Our migrations are physical: moving data and settings from old machines to new ones, transferring files between computers and drives, and retiring the old hardware.

What happens to the old computers?

They are wiped, kept, or returned, as you decide.

Will it interrupt work?

The order of machines and the timing are agreed with you in advance, so the change fits around your working day.

You can start with “it’s not working.”

A few sentences are enough. We’ll ask about anything else we need to know.
